Web design fees start at $1500 for straightforward projects. A temporary one page website is included with all websites designed. Every custom built website is unique and differs in complexity, use of dynamic content, navigation, layout, number of images used, page size and so on. To give you better idea of my going rate before you request a quote, here are some sample offers:
Approximate web design fees for clean simple sites start as follows: around 4 pages - $1500, under 8 pages - $2000, under 12 pages - $2500, under 16 pages - $2750, under 20 pages - $3000. Of course all this depends somewhat on complexity and uniqueness of the projects, number of layouts, and such.
Custom design for client-updatable websites based on popular proprietary or free/open-source content management systems such as WordPress - $2500 (add $375 for each 10 pages of content you provide for inputting beyond the first ten pages included - count one page as approximately 250 words and two images on average).
If you need text for your website, we can suggest local professionals, writers and editors, who would be glad to help, or we can work with you on website text for around $0.50 per word if you are willing to put in the time and the necessary information in person within agreed timeframe.
Half-day of photo work for your website - add $320. The four hours include couple of hours or so for photo-taking and couple of hours for selection, post-processing, cropping and optimizing images for your website. Add $50 for each 100 kilometers out of London or $100 for each additional hour taking photos.
Two hours of photo work for your website - add $160. The two hours include an hour for photo-taking and another hour for selection, post-processing, cropping and optimizing of images for your website. Add $50 for each 100 kilometers out of London or $100 for each additional hour taking photos.
Instead of the above session rates, if you prefer per photo rate, it is $25 per room photo, per food item/gourmet dish photo or per commercial or industrial product photo an so on; minimum $150 per session. Additional alternative shots of the same room, food item, product and so on are $12.50 if available or requested. Portraits are not subject to these rates; please check Regular or Brief Sessions above for portrait work.
Stock photo license fees for decent usable size photos range from around $10 dollars each for royalty-free use on your website to several hundred dollars or more, depending on quality and your preference - add $20 per image for our labour finding, purchasing, and processing each one. Alternatively, provide your own photos, buy your own stock images, hire a photographer or take advantage of our very affordable semi-professional photo services.

If you need videos, we keep in touch with local videographers. You negotiate with them, send us the videos, and add $25 for posting each video on your website - add $25 per 1GB if your video requires conversion on our end. Alternatively, upload your videos to YouTube or Vimeo by yourself, and we won't charge you a thing for embedding a few on your site.
Same concept new visual direction or simple refinement and vectorization. You provide current logo on paper or in a file. Select hand-drawn sketch of your brand is physically cut from paper, scanned into Illustrator and vectorized by hand. Fully scalable vector file and PDF is produced and included in the price. The image can be blown up in size indefinitely. You can send the files to your printers, signage professionals and such. Add $375.

Updatable product catalogues start at $3000 - including inputting of up to 25 products; product photos are extra if we have to produce them - $25 per product photo right here in our light tent or $25 per product on location, with a $150 minimum per session. Additional alternative shots of the same product are $15 but they must be requested before the photo session if required. They are still $15 if not requested but available during selection. If you need product descriptions written up, I know professionals that may be available to work with you on those for a fee. Extra product inputting is $10 per product, up to two images and 150 words per product on average.
If you are interested in ecommerce, we mostly work with the Shopify platfor but can also build static websites with PayPal buttons or PayPal cart and thus optional inventory tracking. Our design fees for Shopify start at $2500, or $2000 for the static website under seven pages with PayPal options and under ten products.
When it comes to ecommerce, we just want to stick to designing the looks. Although, we can design custom looks for popular systems such CubeCart, osCommerce and ZenCart, we will only do so if you have these carts hosted and fully supported elsewhere.
Please also note we do not help with federal, provincial or state retail tax issues, retail license application processes or shipping fee calculations for your store items. While the respective cart systems may have modules that help set up tax rates and shipping options, do not be surprised that you have to administer or have someone administer the online store, respond to clients, ship items, answer phone and such.
Generally it takes as many working days to have the sites ready as there are pages but add time for consultation, concept selection and revision period. Straightforward projects usually end up taking four to five weeks. Content management systems take longer. Your ability to provide the materials necessary is often the key factor. We can put up a one page business card website to have something up in the meantime. All work to be done and due dates are specified in writing once we meet in person to go over these details. After you make up your mind to go with us on the project, we take 40% up front upon signing.
Domain name registrations are $25 a year per domain for .com, .ca, .net, .org, .info, .biz, and .us. Other TLDs are also available. We register domains through Enom and Webnames.ca.
Our maintenance, content updates & 3rd party hosting bundle is $35 a month and includes half-hour time per month for content updates, support, SSL installations and such. Same as above without SSL is $30 per month. Budget version is $25 a month and includes an hour twice a year. Budget with SSL option is $30 per month. Ongoing service bundles for dynamic websites are $40 a month and includes on-site backups as well as half-hour of time per month reserved for support, help with CMS content updates, offsite backup requests, and/or maintenance. You are always free to take your site elsewhere at anytime. Just make sure to allow two months between domain name registrations, renewals and transfers.
Dynamic sites such as user updatable websites require additional server resources and additional work. Depending on your privacy and security requirements, they may also require additional options, SSL, own Plesk instance etc.. Please see our 3rd Party Hosting Bundles for details.
